Matrix Telecommunications Corporation (MTC) has developed a product whereby an existing ISP can outsource the "hardware" portion of their operation to concentrate upon the marketing of their service. Computer Dealers can expand their operation into providing Internet Access to their customers without the capital cost or expertise required to install the necessary Network and Telecommunications equipment.
The product is called Private Label Internet, whereby MTC installs and maintains the Servers, Telecommunications equipment (Access Servers) and procures the telephone lines and Backbone to the Internet. Each PLI is assigned a dedicated Server (usually a 2.4ghz, 1.5g Ram, 80G HDD 1U Supermicro Computer) and the Linux operating system is installed. Auxiliary sub-systems such as Spam Assassin, AMAVIS (Virus Protection) and Linuxconf (System Management) are also installed. The PLI maintains ALL access to their subscribers by performing the Customer Service, Technical Support and Accounting functions. MTC has no contact with the end-user.
Matrix Telecommunications provides Private Label Internet Access to the (315,518,585,607,716,845 area codes) at a weekly rate schedule detailed below to Internet Service Providers (ISP). The customer (ISP) is billed based on the actual subscriber count (passwd file) as detailed in the weekly radius report (run every Sunday at 0430hrs).
